“The world and everything in it is unplanned accident, existence is meaningless; the past is irrelevant; nothing matters.”

I would say that position two has won the trial since they were able to prove clearly that the world had meanings by explaining the happiness and emotions that humans are able to feel. I was thinking about the trial over and what had made my case not as strong as the oppositions. It would be because they had a better cooperation within the group and they proved their notion in detail. Another reason I was convinced is by agreeing the quote, which the past is relevant, since humans learn by their mistakes. The other side was able to tell me that different characters lived for different reasons. For instance, Sharper mentioned his meaning of life was to spread the idea that the world had meaning even though life was meaningless in truth. This quote supported other characters to state their beliefs. The character of Wealtheow believed she lived to save her people, and another character of Unferth claimed to live for the fame and heroism. I was persuaded by them when they insisted that they lived for different purposes in life. I questioned to one of witnesses from the opposition side that if her fame died out what purposes she would have in her life. And he responded by saying, "I always have my friend and family left." This answer had me think about my life and have the question about the purpose of my living. I think that the other side was able to show me that there is meaning to life and that everything in life matters.
